Fair Ilse

I had been eyeing this Jcrew jeweled sweater for quite some time now. So when I saw that they had my size in my local Jcrew I knew it was a sign. Not only was it warm and functional (100% lambswool), but it was also super adorable and sparkly.  The lovely Sarah Vickers of Classy Girls Wear Pearls did inspire me with her styling of this sweater.

When styling this outfit I drew from the colors of the sweater in order to help me pick certain accessories and pieces of clothing. This Rebecca Minkoff M.A.B. Bag went well with the whole outfit, and I thought the mahogany color was very wintery.

J Crew Sale

If you couldn’t tell already  I have a slight obsession with Jcrew (actually  maybe LARGE obsession sums it up better). When I found out that they were having a huge sale online and in stores I knew I had to take a look. Everything on sale is an additional 40% off (select items are 50% off) of the already reduced price. Which is essentially every Jcrew lovers dream. Here are some of my spring and winter friendly picks from the sale. PicMonkey Collage

Winter Pastels

Pastels in the winter have been super trendy lately. So I decided to throw this outfit together with a pink pastel oxford and some bright mint green pants. Surprisingly I was very warm in this ensemble, thanks to the Jcrew cable knit sweater.

Luckily I had taken these outfit photos a couple days before we had gotten about three feet of snow. So the lack of outfit posts can be accredited to the torrential snow that we have been having lately. All I know is I am SNOW over it 🙂

Probably one of the favorites in my collection of necklaces. I love how it has both pink and pearls in it (two of my favorites!).

I had to add this Tory Burch Robinson Clutch for some added gold sparkle to the outfit.

Not to mention I am in LOVE with this jeweled sweater ( I can’t get enough of them this winter). Its the perfect statement piece for any wardrobe.

Sparkles and Roses

Sparkles and Roses…two things that I absolutely LOVE. This valentines day I decided I would wear both of them in my outfit for the day. This is one of my options for a more casual valentines day look! I did take these pictures before we started getting this crazy valentines day snow storm! So if I did choose to wear this on valentines day (TOMORROW!?) I would add a warm red pea coat to the outfit.DSC_0579

I loved mixing the leather leggings and a sparkle top. It really made the beadwork on the blouse stand out.

Its all about the details! Here’s a close up of one of my staple Michael Kors watch.

These booties were such a steal, I ended up getting them from Forever 21 for $2! I was in shock when the cashier rang them up. Now I regret not getting them in every color!

The subtle pink lip helped to add some valentines day cheer and color to the outfit!

It always helps when someones making you laugh while you’re taking outfit photos!

Also stay safe and warm through these ongoing snowstorms that have been hitting the northeast and the south!

Let it Snow

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow….except not too much! We have been having our fair share of snow storms up in the northeast this winter. At first its nice during the holiday season, but after a while the snow gets annoying especially when you develop a case of cabin fever! I personally can only take being cooped up inside for too long. So I decided it would be fun (and a little chilly) to shoot some outfit posts midst a snow storm. I have been putting this off all winter because I hate going out in the snow. But I decided that Snow storm Nika was the perfect storm for a photo shoot.

I knew I just had to wear my favorite navy Jcrew gold button coat.

The gold rims on my ray ban aviators worked really well in tying the whole outfit together.

I loved how the bold red-orange lip was dramatized next to the winter white of the snow.

Although my boots are not the atypical Hunter boots, I loved how they gave character to the outfit. The creme and black damask print really stood out out in the snow. I have been pretty happy with the durability of these boots (I’ve had them since my freshman year of college)!

Lastly, I had to keep my ears warm with this cream cable knit beanie.

Grammy’s Best Dressed

I am a little behind because of the crazy weather and I’ve been super busy lately! So sorry for the lack of blog posts, but I thought that I would start with a Grammys post 🙂

One of my favorite parts of the grammys (besides the spectacular performances) is the fashion that is strut down the red carpet hours before the premiere. There were numerous celbs whos dresses I was in love with and some not so much. Although I did find that the gowns with the beadwork and sparkle were best dressed in my books.

I have to start with the gorgeous miss Queen Bey:

I was simply in love with the lace embroidery of this Michael Costello gown. In Beyonce fashion she obviously had to show some of her curves and this dress worked perfectly with them. She pulled this dress effortlessly and strutted it down the red carpet with such poise and elegance.

Ciara was next in line and I have to say she was sporting her baby bump quite elegantly.

This dress was so flattering on her I simply loved all of the beading and detail work. This gown was Emilio Pucci and the way that the gown hugs her curves and baby bump is gorgeous. It was an extremly flattering gown for Ciara, she’s in my best dressed books.

Next we have the gorgeous Christine Teigan:

Can you tell I have been loving the intricate details and sparkles? Oh so predictable of me. She was spotted sporting this gorgeous Johanna Johnson and the gold sequins looked like she was dipped in gold mirrors. This was one of my favorite dresses of the night and she wore it beautifully.

Last but certainly not least is the always gorgeous Guiliana Rancic:

This orange Alex Perry gown looked simply divine on Guliana Rancic. I have always loved her style and fashion sense. This gown is to die for! The whole gown fits her like a glove, but then again what can you expect from someone on fashion police!

Thats all for now!

Check back soon for a pinch of glitz and glam 🙂

Pink and Navy

My two favorite colors happen to be pink and navy. So when I wear them together in an outfit I feel like I can take on the world!

These two colors mix extremely well together because the deep color of navy makes the vibrancy in pink pop! I decided I was going to pair a vineyard vines gingham button up with a long C. Wonder cardigan. When its cold outside I like to layer a lot, so this outfits layers helped to keep me very warm!

I loved how the necklace tied the whole outfit together with the browns, navy, and pink.

My brown riding boots have been getting a lot of wear and tear this season!  These are the only ones I could find with (somewhat of ) a skinny shaft! Its harder to find boots that don’t end up looking like rain boots on me. If anyone knows of a good pair let me know. I have been longing for a beautiful cognac pair of riding boots for so long!

I loved the gold buttons on the gorgeous navy cardigan! I thought it gave the whole outfit a more polished look.DSC_0620Special shout out to my amazing sister for her lovely photography skills!

I hope you all enjoyed this outfit as much as I loved styling it!

Liebster Award

Super excited to have been nominated for this award by the lovely Sea Salted Blonde! So basically, this award is for newer bloggers who have a smaller following, but a lot of potential. I am honored that she chose me as one of the blogs to nominate! I love how this award gets fellow bloggers in contact with one another, as well as support each other.

The rules of the award are as follows:

Mention the person who nominated you with a link to their blog.
Answer the eleven questions they asked.
Nominate eleven other bloggers with a smaller following but a lot of potential.
Create eleven of your own questions for them to answer.
Notify your nominees!
Here are my answers to her questions!

Sweater Weather

It has been super cold up here on the east coast, and when I say cold I am talking the single digits! I hate leaving my house even for a couple minutes because I am not accustomed to this arctic weather. However the one good thing that has come out of this weather has been the infinite amounts of layers and sweaters I have to wear in order to keep warm!

Lately I have been loving this cable knit red sweater with a jeweled collar to added the perfect sparkle to this outfit.

The sparkles in the collar and the shine in gold thread of the sweater complimented each other perfectly!DSC_0587

The nude pumps made the casual outfit a little more dressy (perfect for a holiday party).DSC_0592

And of course my favorite part of the outfit my jewelry!  I recently got both of these Kate spade pieces of jewelry for my birthday, and I simply can not get enough. The “learn the ropes” bracelet is perfect worn alone or with a watch and bracelet stack. The skinny minny bow ring bracelet adds to my obsession with bows! I love how dainty it is, and it goes great paired with the bracelet! So thank you so much to my best friends and boyfriend for both those presents!DSC_0610
