I Pink I love You

October is breast cancer awareness month and I have loved seeing pink all around me throughout the month. Since pink is my favorite color, and seeing as today is the last day in October I figured I would show you a pink outfit for the blog!

So here is one of the outfits that I wore while I was out to dinner in Bermuda.

Loved the English mailboxes!

My sister said it looked like I was apart of this painting!

I felt like the prettiest princess in this dress.

My monogram necklace added the perfect touch to this outfit.

The dress is from Tobi, I had gotten it this summer and unfortunately they no longer have it in stock. I found a dress that looks similar so I added that link below.

Have a Bermudiful day!

As you can tell from my instagram pictures lately, I had the privilege of traveling to Bermuda recently. It was my first time being here and I literally fell in love with the people and the island of Bermuda. I found that the people there were so friendly and genuinely cared about others, which was very nice to see and experience. The food was also excellent, especially the sea food since it was all very fresh. Here are a couple of pictures of the beautiful Bermuda. Although I must add the disclaimer that these pictures do not do the island justice, and you have to experience it to see how gorgeous it truly is.

This was the view from one of the restaurants that we went to.Image

Beautiful view of the town and harbor outside our hotel room.

Hope you all enjoyed the pictures and fulfilled your wanderlust for a bit! I highly recommend taking a trip down there to experience the island for yourself.

Traveling OOTD

When I was younger my mother always taught me that when traveling you always have to look presentable. As I grew older I continued to listen to her advice but I always knew that I wanted to look comfortable and casual at the same time. So for my recent trip to Bermuda I decided to wear the following outfit during the flight:

It was hard to dress for both the cold and the hot since I was going from fall weather to essentially summer. But I thought that this mix helped to keep me warm when I needed to be warm and helped to cool me off once I got into the tropical heat.

Traveling Essentials

Through my travels over the past couple of years I have found that I have curated the perfect Carry on bag. Whether it is a trip thats only 2 hours away via train or a trip thats 12 hours away via plane, I find that having a well packed carry on helps to travel with ease. Below is a picture for my personal carry on that I had for my recent trip to Bermuda. I find that longchamp bags are one the best tote bags to use while traveling because they are lightweight, versatile, and very roomy. The one that is pictured below was bought a couple years back before they revamped their larger le pilage bag, so this one is a bit more roomy than the new ones. Although I do have some friends that have the newer le pilages and they have not had any trouble with the size, but I do wish they continued to make them as large as the bag that I have below. Image

Some of the things that I find essential to packing a carry on are your sunglasses, especially if there your final destination is sunny and tropical. You will need a sunhat as well too keep the suns rays out of your eyes. Also I found that the hanging organizer from Vera Bradley helps to hold all of my jewelry that I will be needing for my trip very nicely. Your wallet that will help to hold your boarding pass, money, passport, etc. Chapstick to help keep your lips hydrated during your travels, I personally love the Palmers coco butter formula. A cosmetic bag with all of your makeup essentials, although do check the carry on restrictions for some liquid cosmetics that are over the carry on limit. Headphones so that you can listen to music or watch movies on the plane. I also like to carry a smaller pouch that holds hand sanitizer, hand cream, a small perfume sample, gum and breath mints. I also was gifted  this awesome checklist (I believe its from Jcrew) that helps to keep all my items in order and helps me check off if I have everything. Some items that are not pictured that I like to bring are a tablet (ipad, nook, kindle), a book, or anything that will entertain me during my long travels.

Hope this can help you for your future travels! Thanks for reading, and be sure to check back for a pinch of glitz and glam!

Welcoming the Fall and Sale Season!

The one word that gives a shopaholic the bees knees….SALES!!! Over the past couple weeks I have been trying to stop myself from buying everything from the sales in stores and online. As the leaves change colors the stores have started to create a burning hole in my wallet. Of course I am talking about the abundance of Friends and Family Sales that have been going on over the past couple of weeks. It all stated with the Bloomingdales F&F sale, where the whole store was essentially 20% off. Then my favorite designer Tory Burch decided to make her whole store 25% percent off. This sale I absolutely could not resist, and I had to buy myself a pair of the Eddie Ballet Flats.

Then BaubleBar had their friends and family sale, and this is where I had to draw the line.  Urban decay was also having a F&F sale, which meant the naked pallet was also on sale ( WHICH NEVER HAPPENS).  Jcrew was having a sale of 25% off of everything in store this past weekend and I had to stop and get this top, which is going to look great for the fall with some boots.  I couldn’t resist the jewels on the collar.

This week there are a couple sales that you should keep your eyes peeled for. Saks Fifth Avenue is having a 25% F&F sale on essentially their whole store which never usually happens. Also Tobi is having a 50% off sale that ends tonight so make sure you check that out. Also Sperry Top sider is also having a friends and family sale thats 25% off all of the shoes on the website. Lastly I just got a facebook notification for the Kate Spade friends and family sale that is currently going on with 30% off the whole website with the code FALL13FF. I have been eyeing the new Gramercy Grand watch so that might be on my list of things to buy!

Thats all for now!

South of the Border

Tonight I decided that for dinner I was going to make some mexican food! Yummmm, I have always had a love for mexican food, and so  I decided to make Mexican Lasagna. I love cooking this type of food because I find that the ingredients are always so colorful. The visual asthetic and aroma of the vegetables are enough to make my tastebuds water. Here is a picture of the end product:

The layers of the lasagna consisted of cheese, hot sauce, crushed tomatoes, beans, corn, cilantro, chives, and some spices. This dish was a huge hit, and I recommend it to anyone that loves mexican food!
